Description: the cello improvises based on the tape material which was made from the vowels in the song Bye Bye Blackbird. The vowels were recorded as multi-phonics (Bonnie Barnet) and varispeeded at the Mills College Tape Center. A very long cloth is wrapped around the audience by a dancer as the cellist performs. Premiered 1750 Arch St, Berkeley.
