Description: I was inspired to compose this piece in response to a call for "dance" themed miniatures for flute and harp. The interesting musical challenge with miniatures is to create a coherent emotional arc within a short duration. And, I loved the idea of creating a tiny "dance" interplay between these two instruments. Both are beautifully lyrical but are also technically very different – the flute being one of the most ancient and simplest instruments, and the harp, although having ancient roots as well, has evolved to the modern pedal harp that involves an interior array of intricately complex mechanisms.
