Description: I. Inner Light, II. Stable and Unstable Elements. Dedicated to the physicist Marie Curie, the work expresses aspects of radioactivity as they relate to music. The first movement uses the idea of light as an inner beacon illuminating and charging the air with its bright particles. The second movement contrasts stability with nervous, unstable rhythms and motives. Commissioned and Premiered 2009, Oak Ridge Civic Music Association.
