Description: The first movement is about how time feels compressed in an emergency. I put the three lines in fast coordination like a medical response team. The second movement is about savoring time because it’s limited, not just like the last day of vacation or leaving your friends at graduation, but bringing that awareness to ordinary, simple, good moments we may take for granted. The third movement is a dance, a determination to live in the now, putting aside tomorrow’s anxieties. Premiere 1/25/26 by Skyline Bones at National Opera Center, NYC
