This ballet is based on a series of sculptures by Marjorie Michael entitled, A Woman’s Journey. These portray vignettes of ordinary scenes from a woman’s life. The music is organized as a theme and 7 variations, based on a Bach-like architectural design. Each instrument is given a solo movement and a duet, and these are interspersed with the full trio ensemble, each solo featuring a different aspect of the individual in relationship to the group.
“A bravura piece, romantic in impulse but contemporary in its tonal language. With challenging unaccompanied solos for each instrument.” Atlanta Journal
