Description: Commissioned by the New Jersey Music Teachers Association for advanced students. The weirwood is a species of sacred tree found all over Westeros in George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. The leaves and the sap of weirwoods are red, while the bark and wood are white. Some of them, called heart trees, have faces carved in the bark. Greenseers and the gods of the Old Faith watch events over millinium through these carved eyes.
