New York Women Composers’ fifth annual Gala and Silent Auction, Autumn Meditations: NYWC at 41, will be held at the historic Greenwich House Music School on October 22nd, 2025. The night of music will fundraise for NYWC’s programs, such as the Seed Money Grant. 

This year’s honoree will be award-winning composer and violinist Dr. Chen Yi. NYWC is proud to honor Dr. Chen Yi’s dedication and breadth of talent, creating transcendent musical compositions.

The Gala will have performances by Neil Beckmann and Tessa Brinckman, Marcia Eckert and Sara Paar, Jane Leslie, and Jing Zhou. The performances will feature music by Gala honoree Chen Yi, Elisenda Fábregas, Jane Leslie (commissioned by Jonathan Falk), and Jing Zhou. 

The Silent Auction will give guests a chance to bid on prizesitems ranging from tickets to world-class festivals and theatre to fine gifts and practical administrative help. 

In addition to refreshments, a silent auction, and music performances, there will be an archival project on display about the Women’s Work concerts from 2004-2012 that were performed at the Greenwich House. The project will exhibit the depth of the NYWC’s partnership with Greenwich House and the showcasing of talented women composers.
